Running an eco-friendly business is both good for the environment and good for business. Here are a few ways to make sure your business is eco-friendly.
How to Run an Eco-Friendly Business
Market an eco-friendly product or service
The first tip I can recommend is to make sure your business is marketing or selling an eco-friendly product or service. You cannot be effectively eco-friendly in your business if you are marketing products that aren’t eco-friendly. The more you sell, the less eco-friendly you become.
Recycle
The one thing we all rack up in business, whether working from an office or home, is paper. A lot of this paper can be recycled, as well as the old printers and other electronics we no longer use.
Purchase recycled office supplies
It’s not just about recycling to do good for the environment. You can also buy products that are recycled, or simply repurpose old office products in unique and innovative ways – which is cheaper that buying new. Purchasing recycled paper, getting refillable pens, and using recycled cups or all cost-effective ways to utilize office products.
Be Energy Conscious
Whether this means changing your light bulbs to energy-efficient light bulbs or powering your office with alternative energy, such as solar, you should be energy conscious in how to power your business. Every business requires power, how much do you think you’re using?
