We don’t always have control of the space where we can get work done. Especially if you work from home, you know the struggles of making a space your office if there is very little space to work with. Here are a few tips to help.
Tips to Create a Home Office in a Tight Space
Keep office hours
Keeping office hours will allow everyone in the house the chance to be respectful of your office space during a certain time of day, every day.
Make sure your home office space has its own light, which will help illuminate the space necessary to work in without you being depended on a light source being used to light a bigger room.
Create an accent wall
If all you have to work with is a single wall space, paint that wall space to give your office nook a separate design from the rest of the room. If you can’t paint, consider putting up wall decor, pictures, or bookshelves.
Shelves are your friends
Speaking of shelves, remember that shelves are an excellent tool because they help you build up when there is no room to build out. Plus, they are great for storage.
Get a room divider
Using a screen or room divider panel will help keep your office space completely separate from the rest of the room. When you are using your office, you can give yourself more room by moving the room divider. When the office isn’t in use, you can move the divider closer to give your stuff some privacy.
No matter how awkward or small the space, there is always a way to make it work for you. Don’t be afraid to get creative and think outside the box – or up the wall.
