The hardest part about finding motivation is staying motivated. Motivation is what keeps you going when the going gets tough (which it inevitably will). When you have work that needs to be done, if you don’t have the motivation, getting that work done will be a lot harder. So how do you go about looking for motivation and holding on to it? With a little bit of work and some time, you can learn the habit of staying motivated.
How to Stay Motivated
Make a goal and see it through
At the start of chasing every dream is the decision to make a goal. It is not enough to make a goal and stop thinking about it. Many people say that if you set a goal, you must see it through. Visualize it until the very end. Once you start your goal, think about every step until the end result. Never stop thinking about it while you’re continuing to do what you do, that way you never lose sight of what you’re doing.
Give yourself a reward after you hit your goals
What keeps us motivated to move toward our goals is that light at the end of the tunnel. That light is the reward. We all need to be rewarded for our hard work, that’s what our inner child wants! It’s important to properly reward yourself after you do a good job, no matter how small that task was to do. It’s easiest when you break your goals down into bite-sized bits and give yourself mini rewards after every little bit you accomplished.
Develop a clear strategy
It isn’t enough to have a goal. In fact, when we develop a goal, we should also be thinking very hard about our strategy. This will help us be clear about what we need to do when we strive to reach big accomplishments. Motivation comes easier when we have a clear path of action to accomplish what we want. So, begin developing a strategy at the same time you’re developing your goals.
