2019 is among us and it’s time to start thinking about our health and wellness goals for the rest of the year. If your 2018 New Years resolution didn’t pan out, now’s your chance to reinvent those goals. You should always start with health goals because without your health, it will be hard to get done much else. Think about how you feel physically and mentally and research how you can improve those aspects of yourself. We have some 2019 health goals to give you some ideas.
2019 Health Goals to Consider For Your New Years Resolution
A common trend that started around 2016 is clean eating. That is, eating everything fresh and organic, without GMOs and other additives. This trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon and it’s a great place to start. There are more options these days than ever before.
There are certain things you buy from the store that contain a lot of sodium, sucralose, and other additives that aren’t so good for you in the long run. Consider organic foods and tell us if you feel any different this year.
Find the most effective workout for you
It’s great that going to the gym has become a popular past time for people in the last few years. It seems that many are following through with their resolutions. However, not everyone likes or gets much benefit from the gym.
It’s important to find a workout that best suits what you need. If you’re trying to lose weight, focus on cardio activities. If you’re trying to bulk up, start lifting weights. In order to get the workout that works best for you, do some research, ask around, and maybe even consult with a professional trainer.
Pay attention to your online habits
Now let us talk about mental health (and also a little bit of physical health). Chances are, you’re spending too much time on your phone. It’s okay, a lot of people are going through the same thing, but too much of it is detrimental to our mental health.
There’s a newly emerging phenomenon going into 2019. It’s called “digital wellbeing,” and it’s manifesting as a feature on some phones. Apparently, Google and Apple are getting in on this, with a Night Shift mode for iPhones and a digital well-being feature for Pixels.
All we can do is simply recommend that you take some time away from technology in general. Go outside and go for walks, at least twice a day for 30 minutes. It’s not much time at all and it makes all the difference in the world. You’ll notice your mind clearing in no time at all.
Clean out your home
Sometimes, the best way to start a new year is to clean out your home, get organized, and spend time in a clutter-free and safe environment. Take some time to replace your old and outdated cleaners with effective cleaners that are chemical-free. Get rid of old clothes and stuff you don’t need anymore. When you get organized and clean, it will help you feel fresh and ready for the new year.
